At Snug Bug's nursery we believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life and we strive to achieve this. Children develop rapidly from birth to five years and it has been proven that their experiences during this time have a lasting effecting on their over all development. At Snug Bugs we promote each child's individual development by following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) a national framework which promotes a broad range of knowledge and skills.
Within the EYFS there are 7 areas of learning
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
-Communication and Language
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Art and design
Throughout the day the children at Snug Bugs are provided with a wide range of activities, resources and experiences that best promote each child's development within these areas.
Each child is allocated a 'key carer' who will support the child and their family through the time at Snug Bugs.
Your child's key carer will closely monitor and observe your child's progress linking it to the EYFS and these observations, photos and videos will be uploaded to "Tapestry", our secure online Learning Journal which can be accessed from the comfort of your own home and via an app meaning that you are always able to keep up to date with your child's progress.
We also upload a daily diary to Tapestry with photos, videos and a description of your child's day allowing you to always be informed on your child's time at Snug Bug's and the fun that they get up to during their day.
We also promote each child's development through daily targeted group time activities. During this time the children are split into small groups where they are able to develop key skills alongside their key carer and allowing their key carer to best support your child with meeting their 'next steps' linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage.
At lunch time your child is able to bring in a packed lunch or we can provide a healthy 2 course cooked meal for just £2.50.
Snug Bugs makes full use of our enclosed garden with a giant boat-shaped sandpit, water play, a digging and gardening area, sand kitchen, play houses and a variety of garden toys.
Our ratio of children to adults is always within Ofsted guidelines and often we try to make the ratio even lower so there are more staff members to children to ensure every child receives top quality care.
We nurture and support toddlers to grow into happy, well-rounded individuals with a good grasp of life skills including sharing, our children are also encouraged to help to clean up the mess at the end of an activity or session to help them to appreciate their surroundings.
Get in touch if you have any questions or queries regarding our setting and the sessions etc. we provide, we are also happy to arrange a time for you and your child to visit!
We are more than happy to see what we can do to help and provide the best care possible!
